I cannot say enough positive things about our experience with all of the Service Master team. From the first arrival or Dan and Justin to the considerate and timely completion of the water damage to three floors of home by Richard and his team, we were provided unparalleled service. The crews which did the remediation efforts to the fellows who did the reconstruction were always on time, communicative about the process, and respectful of how they left our home each night. Our experience with all aspects of Service Master Vancouver has been a completely Five STARS engagement.
Very concerning experience — valuable items went missing while my belongings were in their custody. In April 2024, my apartment in Burnaby was flooded, and my insurance company hired this restoration company to handle the restoration. Because I had to temporarily move downtown, their team came to my apartment and packed and moved all of my furniture and belongings to a storage facility. Once the flooring was replaced, they returned everything to my apartment. I have recently discovered that several valuable items are missing, including a Hermès bracelet, a Bulgari bracelet, and several gold pendants. What makes this extremely concerning is that, to the best of my knowledge, no one else had access to or handled my belongings after that moving. These items were there before the restoration, and I only discovered that they were missing until today. All I got were empty boxes! I am extremely disappointed and upset. I trusted this company with all of my personal belongings, including valuable jewelry, and now several expensive items are gone. If you are using a restoration company, please photograph and document every valuable item before allowing them to pack, transport, or store your belongings. I strongly regret not having done this more thoroughly.
My sister lived alone when she passed away. To restore her house to a condition where it could be listed, professional help was needed. Absolutely terrible experience. My home flooded July 10 and this company was assigned through insurance. It took until July 29 for them to even itemize my belongings, leaving everything sitting moulding for weeks. When I finally received the inventory, it was incomplete and inaccurate. Several expensive items were missing, high-end furniture was poorly identified, including a solid oak hutch listed as a “wood cabinet” and items were documented that didn’t even match what was in my home. I spent two weeks calling and being ignored trying to get their mistakes corrected. The only reason I finally got a response was because I happened to be staying at the same hotel as their staff and approached them at breakfast. The list was eventually corrected, but the lack of communication continued. As of August 19, nothing has been removed from my home. I have repeatedly been told by Tanner that it will be done “tomorrow,” followed by no action and no returned calls. Their failure to follow through is now directly delaying repairs and keeping my family displaced longer. A flood is devastating enough. No family should have to spend weeks chasing the company hired to help clean up the aftermath. Completely unacceptable service.
We had a great experience with this company. Phil was kind enough to come by on a Saturday morning and provide moisture readings along with helpful advice. He was professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to answer our questions. Brandon was also very helpful with scheduling and was a pleasure to deal with. We really appreciated their assistance and would highly recommend this company.
We did not even know our unit was affected by the water leak in our building (higher floor) until ServiceMaster technicians knocked on the door and checked for moisture. All crews (identification, initial response, and restoration/construction) were great - friendly, professional and helpful (e.g. assistance with moving furniture). Although I did need to follow-up occasionally for status, the team was very responsive and worked hard to accommodate my schedule. I would definitely recommend their services.
